Heart of Texas Unemployment Rate Reaches 4.0%
WACO, Texas — According to the latest data from TexasLMI.com, the unemployment rate for the Heart of Texas increased by 0.3 percentage points in May, reaching 4.0%. This rate was comprised of 7,336 individuals seeking employment, and 909 continued unemployment claims filed.
The Heart of Texas saw month-to-month job growth, with 300 jobs added in the month of May, for a total of 142,900 jobs across the region.

- Bosque County: 3.9%
- Falls County: 4.0%
- Freestone County: 4.7%
- Hill County: 4.0%
- Limestone County: 4.2%
- McLennan County: 4.0%
The region’s unemployment rate remained below both the statewide (4.3%) and national (4.1%) rates.
