Q: As an employer, what do I need to do to access the services provided by Workforce Solutions?

A: You can access all of our services by registering on www.WorkinTexas.com or by contacting one of our expert staff at solutions@hotworkforce.com or (254) 296-5201. All we require is a Texas Tax number (TWC ID) or Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN). We can also accept Form SS4 from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Q: What types of business services does Workforce Solutions for the Heart of Texas provide?

A: Workforce Solutions assists businesses with recruiting, screening, and referring individuals to open positions. We also provide consulting on topics such as finding resources for funding and the education and training of new and existing employees.

Q: What is the cost for using your services?
A: Because we are state and federally funded, there is no charge for the basic services we provide to Texas employers. The only requirement for businesses to utilize our services is registration with federal and state governments.
Q: What arrangements must I make to have a job fair or hiring event for the job openings at my company through Workforce Solutions?

A: To schedule a job fair or hiring event, we suggest you contact our Business Solutions team at (254) 296-5201 or Solutions@hotworkforce.com.

Q: What does it cost my company to have a job fair or hiring event through Workforce Solutions?

A: Hiring events are another service that we can provide free of charge. Our only request is that your company call and request the event with at least one week’s notice (to provide recruiters ample time to prepare individuals).

Q: How will I find employees for my open positions?

A: We provide an online job-matching system, WorkInTexas.com, that provides a list of applicants who match your job order requirements. Jobs can be posted online at WorkInTexas.com or by calling the Business Solutions team at (254) 296-5201. You can also browse the jobseeker database for potential qualified applicants online.

Q: Where can I find information regarding employment law?

A: Visit the Texas Workforce Commission website for answers to questions regarding: legal issues, pay and policy issues, work separation, post-employment problems, and links to other employment law-related websites. You can also access our Resource Center.

Q: Am I paying my employees a competitive wage for the Heart of Texas area?

A: You can call the Business Solutions team for professional guidance or check TexasLMI.com for the most recent wage information.

Q: Do you take job postings from out-of-state employers?

A: Yes, we will take postings from out-of-state employers if the jobs are within our six county areas or if the employer is registered with a Texas Tax ID.

Q: What programs are available to my company for reducing our taxes?

A: A number of programs are available that provide a tax break for hiring certain classes of applicants. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit is a federal tax credit used to reduce the federal tax liability of private-for-profit employers. Employers can hire from 8 different targeted groups. Q: Who should I contact for unemployment insurance information?

A: The Texas Workforce Commission handles all Unemployment Insurance claims through statewide Tele-Centers. You may contact them by phone at (800) 939-6631 or visit their website at www.texasworkforce.org.
