Heart of Texas Unemployment Rate Falls to 3.7% in December 2025
WACO, Texas — According to the latest data from TexasLMI.com, the Heart of Texas regional unemployment rate was 3.7% in December 2025, down from 4.1% in November. The rate reflects 6,784 residents actively seeking work, with 1,048 continued unemployment claims filed during the month.
Total employment for the region stood at 144,900 jobs, a decrease of 400 compared to the prior month.
Unemployment rate by county:
- Bosque County: 3.7%
- Falls County: 3.8%
- Freestone County: 4.7%
- Hill County: 3.6%
- Limestone County: 4.0%
- McLennan County: 3.6%
The Heart of Texas unemployment rate remains below the statewide rate (4.1%) and above the national rate (3.4%).
