What: A conference and job fair with emphasis on Veterans and their spouses that will provide the job seeker with an opportunity to meet with multiple employers as well as various educational institutions. This two-fold event will increase job possibilities as well as educational opportunities for Veterans and their spouses that are actively seeking employment or training.
This event will feature booths from employers in the Central Texas region. There will also be three break-out sessions that will help Employers and Veterans learn about:
• Veterans’ access to Post 9/11 GI Bill and other educational benefits
• Tools to translate military experience into sought after job skills
• Financial benefits of hiring Veterans for Employers
When: September 22, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: The Conference Center at McLennan Community College 4601 North 19th Street, Waco, Texas 76708
Who should attend: Employers, Veterans and their spouses, Military personnel of all branches, Reserves and National Guard, community colleges, institutions of higher education, and other agencies offering resources for veterans.
Why: Service personnel have demonstrated their commitment, discipline, leadership, and teamwork skills in an environment that requires a high level of ethics and integrity. Employers will benefit from hiring outstanding candidates and, in return, Veterans receive the opportunity to provide a secure financial future for their families and themselves.
This event is free to Employers and to Veterans and their spouses that are actively seeking employment or training.
